Dr Ved Berani, a second generation dentist and the principle dentist at Healthy Smiles, shows great pride in his work, for helping everyone achieve a great smile. Dr Ved made his mark in the history of the University of Bombay in the year 1999 when he topped with a distinction! He shares his knowledge and experience, with all patients and clinical coordinators to increase the overall experience of practising in a private practice more enjoyable and informed for everyone.
Since taking over the 35 year old practice from Dr Kleine 13 years ago, he has dedicated his time to delivering high quality state of the art dentistry in a relaxed and pleasant environment. He introduced the philosophy “Healthy mouths… Beautiful smiles” , which helps deliver high quality cosmetic dentistry while still retaining basic principles of prevention and maintaining a healthy foundation of teeth and gums. His special interests are in crowns, bridges and implants which drives the cosmetic results he achieves for all his patients.
Always available for his patients he is an avid golfer and manages his time at work and at home with 3 children and one day hopes to have a culinary degree in world cuisine.

Technology is her forte. She is a fun-loving individual with exceptional customer service skills and is always there to answer queries and help patients. She looks after the day to day running of the surgery, and the back office workload.
Dr Hetal Patel was born and raised in England. He graduated from Guy’s Dental School, University of London in 1995. Over the last 22 years he has forged a career in general dentistry with a strong belief that everyone deserves a beautiful, healthy smile to further enhance their well being and quality of life. He opened his own clinic in England in 2000. This blossomed into a thriving, 5 surgery, cosmetic focused practice that his brother now runs.
Hetal is a highly experienced general practitioner. He has amazing enthusiasm and passion for his dentistry, which results in him providing dentistry of the highest calibre. He has a gentle, caring approach and is very much at ease looking after nervous and anxious patients.
Committed to attending regular dental courses for continuing post-graduate education, over the past 12 years Hetal has developed a special interest in cosmetic dentistry and the art of smile makeovers. He catalogues case after case where he has seen his patients transformed true to his treatment philosophy.
He is married with 2 beautiful children, and when time allows, he enjoys reading and playing golf and tennis.
Dr. Kae Bajwa graduated with the highest distinction from the University of Otago in New Zealand. Excelling academically, she was the recipient of numerous academic awards including the Royal Australasian College of Dental Surgeons Most Outstanding Student Award. Her caring nature and aptitude for the health sciences made the decision to pursue a career in the dental health profession a natural choice.
Dr. Kae is an experienced practitioner whom has a special interest in delivering pain-free Cosmetic Dentistry. For this reason she is continually updating her knowledge by attending professional development courses. She offers her patients several tooth straightening options including Invisalign Clear Braces, Smilefast Quick Braces and the Inman Aligner quick alignment system. She has also been trained to deliver Cosmetic Dermal fillers and Wrinkle relaxants and to construct appliances for snoring and sleep apnoea.
Dr Kae is committed to ensuring all of her patients enjoy a pleasant and pain-free dental experience in a relaxing and positive environment. She works intimately with her patients to develop effective prevention and treatment strategies individually tailored and delivered at each patient’s desired pace. Kae enjoys getting to know her patients on a personal level and nothing makes her happier than seeing them leave the practice relaxed and smiling. She has recently completed a Diploma in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy to assist her in helping anxious clients overcome any dental fear and anxieties.
Dr. Kae enjoys volunteering, travelling, spending time with her family and both singing and playing music. She does yoga and meditation regularly and is passionate about self-development.
We wish to introduce to you Dr Jeremy Perera who has recently joined our practice as a general dentist after qualifying with top honour’s from the Australian Dental Examination Council exams in 2013. Jeremy originally graduated from University of Peradeniya, Sri Lanka in 2006.
Soon after graduation he joined a well-established dental practise in Colombo as an associate, before starting his own practice, “Care Dent” in Colombo.
Care Dent thrived into a high quality multidisciplinary practice and is now under the management of his brother.
Jeremy was one of the youngest council members of the Sri Lankan Dental Association and was also appointed as a member on the Board of Governors for The Aesthetic and Cosmetic Dental Academy.
Jeremy is very gentle and kind and has an ethos of personalised patient care, which has gained him a lot of popularity among his patients. He is very passionate about his work and even when on vacation in Sri Lanka he makes time to see patients as well as volunteering his time and services for rural communities.
He is a highly skilled practitioner and has developed a special interest in the fields of Orthodontics and Prosthetics.
He continues to improve his knowledge in new methods and technology by working with senior specialists and attending international dental courses.
Jeremy moved to Australia in 2012 and he and his beautiful wife are blessed with a son.
He is a sports enthusiast and loves cricket, rugby and tennis. Lately he has developed an interested in Aussie Rules and has become a Hawks fan. He also enjoys creating exotic dishes and cocktails in his leisure time.
George graduated from Auckland University of Technology in 2005 with a Bachelor of Oral Health Science in Oral Health.
He also holds a Dental Degree and is a Doctor of Dental Medicine in the Philippines. George brings to our practice 20 years of experience in the dental field. Since moving to Melbourne George has worked extensively in Dental Health Services Victoria with children.
George is very experienced in working with nervous patients and is extremely gentle and thorough taking the time to go into great detail with you regarding your gum and dental treatment. He believes in the importance of educating his patients to enable them to achieved long term good oral health and like the rest of our team, maintains a high level of ethical standard and sensitivity in his delivery of dental care.
He is also happily married and has 3 boys and twin girls but in spite of his busy family life he still sets aside time to do his own exercise routine and in his spare time enjoys singing and playing tennis.

Candice has completed studies with RMIT University holding a Dental Hygiene qualification. Prior to this, she has had 6 years of working experience as a dental nurse. With Candice’s love and dedication of the dental industry, she has always kept up to date with many other relevant qualifications. She has completed her certificate III in Dental Nursing in 2010 following with a certificate IV in Dental Radiography in 2011.
Candice believes that above named qualifications has brought her a great deal of expertise and knowledge of being involved in the dental industry and her passion for being a dental hygienist. Candice’s professional philosophy as a Dental Hygienist is that prevention is the key to success with educating patients about their oral health and providing the most efficient care and treatment to her patients. She enjoys all aspects of her job. Therefore, in order for her to maintain her professional philosophy, she feels that it is imperative to continue with professional development by building her knowledge and skills to keep up to date with all the latest technology and research.
Away from her professional life, Candice has maintained an eventful personal schedule and has some interests and hobbies, which more comprise of keeping fit and healthy with regular exercise, baking, and travelling. Although Candice has only travelled to a few countries, she aspires to travel the world later on in life with her fiancé. Candice values a healthy work life balance, where her number one priorities are her Dental Hygiene career and her family life.
Dr. Anand is a UK and Australian accredited specialist anaesthetist. In addition to his private practice and work with Sleeping Safely, he is a specialist at Monash Health.
He graduated from the University of Edinburgh with a degree in medicine in 2001.
During his medical training, he successfully completed an additional science degree in Immunology.
After residency training in Emergency Medicine, Obstetrics & Gynaecology and Paediatrics, he gained acceptance onto the prestigious Edinburgh anaesthetic training programme. Subsequent training involved highly sought after positions in tertiary academic hospitals in Glasgow and Melbourne.
After his senior fellowship training at Monash Health, his love of international tennis and sport in general led him to settling in Melbourne.
Dr. Anand is meticulous in the provision of safe and cost-effective anaesthetic care to his patients.
He is rigorous in the maintenance of his specialist knowledge and professional standards.
Outside work, he enjoys spending time with his family, and pursuing his hobbies of stand up paddleboarding, motorcycling, flying and tennis.
Dr. Jaclyn Wong has a special interest in oral surgery having completed both medical and dental degrees at the University of Melbourne. After completing her medical degree, Jaclyn trained for 3 years in general and specialty surgery with the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons. During this time, she developed a keen interest in oral and maxillofacial surgery, in particular Orthognathic and trauma surgery.
After completing a post graduate diploma in Surgical Anatomy, Dr Jaclyn Wong returned to Melbourne University to complete a dental degree. She graduated with Honours in Dentistry and worked as a registrar in the field of oral and maxillofacial surgery for six years at The Royal Melbourne Hospital, Royal Dental Hospital and Austin Hospital.
Jaclyn’s research has included analysing the novel technique of All on 4 implant surgery with particular focus on the functional and clinical outcomes of zygomatic implants as a component of the All on 4 system. She has trained with experts in this field and travelled to Portugal to learn from the inventor of the system at the Malo Clinic and now works as part of the surgical team at Healthy Smiles .
Parapti is our vivacious and young team player who has recently graduated as a Dental Technologist in Melbourne with flying colors! At Healthy Smiles, she revels in using our consistently upgrading new equipment and technologies to provide the best cosmetic dentistry can offer. She brings to her role, enthusiasm, experience and team leadership qualities making everyday pleasurable to work with her.
Kim, with her “classic” catchphrase and cheeky smile, has a larger than life personality that guarantees to put a smile on your face! Kim has joined the Healthy Smiles’ reception team, bringing with her over 5 years of customer service experience and a friendly, enthusiastic manner. She enjoys working closely with her other team members and getting to know all the lovely patients at the practice. Kim is currently pursuing further education at the University of Melbourne and likes exercising, drinking coffee and spending time with her family and friends.
Karen Heslop is our young and vibrant team player, who is very passionate about dentistry, ensuring that every patient is well taken care of, guaranteeing an outstanding supportive service to our anxious patients.
She has completed her Cert III in Dental Assisting and keeps herself updated with new dental technology and procedures. She is a quick learner with an even quicker wit.

Rona Malicse is a vibrant young lady who has shown enormous flare for dental assisting and technician roles and continues to expand her knowledge within the dental field.
After graduating in the Philippines as a Dental Hygienist, Rona has completed her further study as a Dental Technologist in Melbourne and now contributes her expertise in the laboratory field as well at the practice. Positive and polite, Rona delights in greeting and nursing patients in her care.
In her spare time she enjoys dancing, Zumba, listening to music, seeing friends, comedy movies, and attending church.
Megha is an overseas Dentist who graduated in 2011 from MUHS in India with distinction, and loves the world of dentistry.
Marie is an overseas Dentist who graduated in 2014 from Philippines, works as a Dental Assistant at Healthy Smiles.
She is hardworking and a strong team player who works well in collaboration with our other team members. Marie, is also pursuing her further dental studies at the moment and enjoying the experience and training Healthy Smiles can offer. In her spare time Marie enjoys watching movies, dancing and cooking.
Bernadette Blake is a Counsellor, Health Coach and Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT) Practitioner.
Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT) is a powerful new therapy that works quickly to help clients to overcome fears, phobias, stress, anxiety and panic attacks, and reduces physical pain. It works really well to help clients overcome fears and phobias of seeing the dentist, fear of needles and the drill, and it reduces gagging and physical pain after a dental treatment. Bernadette has been combining EFT with Counselling for clients for 8 years and finds that it greatly speeds up the healing process. EFT is quick and easy for anyone to learn to do for themselves, including children as young as 6 years.
Bernadette specialises in working with women to assist them to overcome emotional issues, such as emotional eating and weight loss, stress, anxiety, depression, fears and phobias, grief and trauma from child abuse or sexual abuse. She teaches women how to increase their self esteem and confidence so they can make the most of all of their opportunities in their career and personal life. Bernadette also works with health and welfare workers to teach them how to overcome work related stress and trauma and to prevent burnout.
Bernadette’s qualifications include a Bachelor of Science (Psychology and Health Sciences), Graduate Diploma of Psychology, Diploma of Health Counselling and EFT Practitioner qualifications. She is vice-president of EFT Australian Practitioners. Bernadette previously ran her own business as a scientist and health educator, and has worked in the mental health and welfare fields.
Jenet Kirby is a Clinical Hypnotherapist specialising in Men and Women's health and wellbeing.
Since starting as a nurse in 1975, she has trained in Australia and overseas. She is certified in Medical Hypnotherapy and is a HypnoFertility® Practitioner and HypnoBirthing® Fertility Therapist and has trained as a HypnoBirthing® Childbirth Educator. As well, Jenet is a NLP Practitioner and Coach.
These trainings enable Jenet to assist dental patients with fear and phobia reduction, pain control, gag reflex, teeth grinding and especially stress management. Hypnotherapy may assist with improving other health issues. In her private practice, Jenet's areas of expertise also include weight loss using the Virtual Gastric Band Procedure, diabetes management and smoking cessation. There are many other areas too numerous to list here.
Self-hypnosis workshops conducted by Jenet, in Melbourne and rural areas, enables men and women to enjoy and enrich their lives.
