Single Visit Porcelain Restoration
Single Visit Porcelain Restoration
This is a possibility today simply because of “BONDED CERAMICS” or CEREC.
With CEREC at your dentist’s side, you can be in and out in a single visit* with a permanent (long term), all ceramic crown, inlay, or veneer! For you, as a patient, this means fewer injections/needles, less drilling, no messy impressions and less time out of your hectic schedule.
We understand you as a patient want the highest quality restoration that will last, look good, are metal free and can be done with as little dental visits as possible. With the new 3D cerec software the highest possible precision restoration can be done in less than 1 hour for a single tooth from start to finish.
Most dental professionals and patients would agree that metal based restorations should be avoided if at all possible. By contrast, all-ceramic materials offer outstanding benefits. They are biocompatible, biometric, display tooth-like mechanical properties and allow you to conserve much more natural tooth tissue. CEREC is a stepping stone in modern ceramic dentistry.

Let’s start with a comparison of old versus new techniques
Traditional Procedure (Old way)

‘Chairside’ Milled Dental Ceramics (New Way)
Using a highly specialised camera attached to a computer, a series of images are captured inside your mouth. These are processed and result in a virtual model of your tooth visible on the computer screen. Using a library of possible shapes and uniquely-designed software tools, the 3-D computer version of the new restoration is produced. The 3-D model is electronically transmitted to the ‘milling unit’, where diamond-coated instruments shape a ceramic block to form the new restoration. This process takes place chair-side, and lasts only minutes.
Worldwide, a CEREC restoration is placed every 20 seconds. With a history of nearly 20 years, this equipment has helped dentists place over 12 million restorations. Using metal free materials that are the closest to your natural enamel, CEREC gives you the highest quality restorative care.
Please feel free to ask us any questions about CEREC at your next visit at Healthy Smiles.
We are proud members of the Australian Society for Computerised Dentistry and thank them for allowing us to use their images and text to explain the complex process of CEREC.
*A mandatory consultation is required prior to CEREC treatment. This may occur on another day.
Warning: “Any surgical or invasive procedure carries risks. before proceeding, you should seek a second opinion from an appropriately qualified health practitioner.” Results shown above may vary from individual to individual.
